Dr Tariq IqbalTariq Iqbal
Dr Iqbal graduated from Fitzwilliam College, Cambridge and trained in Gastroenterology, Liver Medicine and General Medicine in Norwich, Manchester and Birmingham. His research on tropical enteropathy led to an MD thesis in 1996.

Background
The BBC CLRN Specialty Group for Gastrointestinal has been established to connect Healthcare professionals working throughout the region who are interested or are involved in clinical Gastrointestinal research.

The group comprises local interested individuals and meets regularly to coordinate activity, projects and share resources and information. Anyone interested in clinical Gastrointestinal research is welcome to participate in the group and should contact the Local Specialty Group Lead for further information.

Overall Aims
Our overall aims are to foster and encourage clinical research in Gastrointestinal, within (but not restricted to) the NIHR CRN Portfolio, by including clinicians, scientists, other professional groups and representatives.
