Professor Jonathan Ross
Jonathan Ross is a Professor of Sexual Health and HIV based at University Hospitals Birmingham. His research interests are pelvic infection, sexual health service delivery and HIV. He has been chair of the CLRN Infectious Diseases and Microbiology local priority group since 2008 and is also chair of trustees for the British Association for Sexual Health and HIV, editor of STI Global Review, chair of the MRCP Speciality Question Group for Respiratory Disease and sits on the editorial board of Sexually Transmitted Infections and IJSA.

Background
The BBC CLRN Specialty Group for Infectious Diseases and Microbiology has been established to connect Healthcare professionals working throughout the region who are interested or are involved in clinical Infectious Diseases and Microbiology research.
The group comprises local interested individuals and meets regularly to coordinate activity, projects and share resources and information. Anyone interested in clinical Infectious Diseases and Microbiology research is welcome to participate in the group and should contact the Local Specialty Group Lead for further information.
Overall AimsOur overall aims are to foster and encourage clinical research in Infectious Diseases and Microbiology, within (but not restricted to) the NIHR CRN Portfolio, by including clinicians, scientists, other professional groups and representatives.
