Dr Kirk is a consultant in Paediatric Endocrinologist/Diabetologist at Birmingham Children’s Hospital and is also the research champion at the hospital (2009-2012).

Background
The BBC CLRN Specialty Group for Paediatrics has been established to connect Healthcare professionals working throughout the region who are interested or are involved in clinical Paediatrics research.

The group comprises local interested individuals and meets regularly to coordinate activity, projects and share resources and information. Anyone interested in clinical Paediatrics research is welcome to participate in the group and should contact the Local Specialty Group Lead for further information.

Overall Aims
Our overall aims are to foster and encourage clinical research in Paediatrics, within (but not restricted to) the NIHR CRN Portfolio, by including clinicians, scientists, other professional groups and representatives.
