APPOINTMENTS WITH A MEMBER OF THE PRIMARY HEALTH CARE TEAM
We run a computerised appointment system. Although you register with one of the doctors by name, you can be seen by any one of the partners, providing there is an appointment available. It may on occasion be more appropriate to see one of the nurses or the pharmacist depending on your symptoms. Please be assured that all reception staff have had additional training to establish which Health Care Professional is the most appropriate person to deal with your problem. If you require urgent professional advice or an appointment please telephone the surgery between 8.15 am and 9.30 am.
We ask that you do not abuse this facility by using it for non-urgent problems as this means we have to cut down on routine appointments. This system although, allowing for quick appointments, does sometimes lead to a change from one Health Care Professional to another. If a doctor or nurse you do not normally see asks you to come back and see them again your regular doctor/nurse will not be offended. Late arrivals for appointments may be seen at the Doctor’s discretion.
Telephone Consultations
The Practice now provides a “telephone consultation” facility so that when appropriate you may be able to discuss your condition with a Health Care Professional over the phone. Please ensure that the Practice have your most recent telephone number. All telephone calls received at the Practice are recorded. Each week over 134 patients make appointments and then fail to attend. These valuable appointments are wasted. Please let us know if you cannot attend. Repeated failed appointments may result in you being removed from the doctor’s list.
