NIHR Coordinated System for gaining NHS Permission (NIHR CSP)
The ability to set up studies quickly and efficiently is central to making the NHS internationally competitive in clinical research, enabling studies to reach their recruitment targets as swiftly as possible.
A key component of this is the NIHR Coordinated System for gaining NHS Permission, or NIHR CSP. This is a coordinated and streamlined process for gaining NHS Permission, which all studies eligible for the NIHR Portfolio must use. Therefore, NIHR CSP acts as a 'one stop shop' for gaining NHS Permission.
NIHR CSP is coordinated by Cumbria and Lancashire, alongside our fellow CLRNs, in partnership with the NIHR Clinical Research Network Coordinating Centre. The system runs parallel to the Ethics application and any other relevant regulatory applications carried out by the Lead CLRN.
All NHS organisations in England are accepting applications through the system. Arrangements are in place to coordinate studies taking place across the UK.
Our Local RM&G Staff deal with the NIHR CSP System every day, and hold meetings with each other and other CLRNs to share their knowledge of RM&G.
The Cumbria and Lancashire CLRN RM&G Update Meetings are as follows:
2nd March 2011
8th June 2011
7th September 2011
14th December 2011
All 1 - 4pm at Preston Business Centre.
