The Skin and Wound Healing theme of the Greater Manchester CLRN is led by Professor Chris Griffiths, Professor of Dermatology at The University of Manchester and Consultant Dermatologist at Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust.
The theme is based in Salford Royal Hospital NHS Trust’s Dermatology Centre, one of the largest and most comprehensive Departments of Dermatology in the UK with research staff working across several sites in Greater Manchester. It also has its own website:
The theme has an excellent record of conducting clinical, problem-led research. It has a diverse portfolio of dermatology research that is carried out across the region that directly benefits patients. Specialities include the immunological mechanisms of psoriasis and the mechanisms and repair of skin ageing.
The theme has strong links with other research groups in the UK and is currently collaborating with The University of Manchester’s Faculty of Life Sciences, and the Universities of Bradford, Liverpool, King’s College London, and Glasgow.
