Patient and public involvement
Involving patients and members of the public leads to research that meets their needs, is more reliable and more likely to be put into practice.
All NIHR funding streams look for PPI in applications for funding as now they consider it an essential part of the application process. It is recognised that it can be difficult to recruit the public to help in the development stage of a research study.
Hampshire and Isle of Wight CLRN is working with local partners to build a 'bank' of volunteers who want to play an active part in the development of research.
