Supporting researchers

Find out about the support available to researchers when setting up a clinical trial.

red liquid in petri dishesResearchers are able to access information about support available to them during the planning, set-up and delivery phase of a study.

An important part of this support is the provision of the Coordinating Network Support for Chief Investigators Service which facilitates the researcher’s ‘journey’ when setting up non‐industry contract multi‐centre clinical research studies.

This service provides help with the following;

  • identifying the elements of support that should be provided by the Networks for a study (i.e. service support
  • liaising, on behalf of the CI, with other relevant NIHR Clinical Research Networks to confirm that this support will be provided at each of the recruiting centres
  • and keeping the CI informed of progress at the other NIHR Clinical Research Networks.

This all works to ensure sites are set up in a timely manner and that any problems throughout the duration of the study are resolved.
