Research Management and Governance

The London North West CLRN provides Research Management & Governance (RM&G) support for all NIHR Portfolio studies undertaken within the Network Member Organisations.

In London North West RM&G support is delivered by a small central team working together with CLRN funded RM&G staff within the Member Trusts.

Our role is to:

• Provide regulatory and governance advice.
• Facilitate and manage the NHS Permission (R&D approval) process for NIHR Portfolio studies in the North West London area.
• Manage the Coordinated System for gaining NHS Permission (CSP).
• Provide the Coordinated Network Support Service (CNSS).
• Provide guidance and advice in the study management and delivery.
• Oversee the Research Passport Scheme.
• Provide training to RM&G staff and the wider research community.
• Implement and coordinate national and local RM&G initiatives designed to simplify the set up and delivery of research in the NHS.
