Western CLRN Training Programme 2013
Details of the Western CLRN Training Programme 2013 are now available. Attendance is free to NIHR-funded staff, but please note that as these sessions are expensive to run, a fee of £75 will be charged to employing Trusts if a booking is made and the place not taken up without good reason and due notice.

Eligibility for Western CLRN GCP Training
Before you complete your request for GCP Training via the LMS, can we please ask that you confirm your eligibility to avoid problems with your application.
Whilst we are reluctant to discourage researchers within the region from attending GCP Training events, we also have limited capacity at our events and therefore have a responsibility to ensure that all delegates are eligible to attend.
If you do not fulfil the NIHR eligibility criteria, we suggest that you contact your local R&D Department for guidance in the first instance. If this is unsuccessful, please contact Donna Burnham (tel. 0117 342 1376, e -mail: DonnaBurnham@nhs.net) and we will consider your request on an individual basis, dependant on capacity.
NIHR Introduction to Good Clinical Practice (GCP)
The WCLRN is offering the following 'Introduction to Good Clinical Practice (GCP)' courses in 2013:

This full-day course is designed to provide a basic introduction to Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and the EU Directives, UK Regulations and Research Governance Framework requirements covering clinical trials and other NIHR CRN Portfolio studies conducted within the NHS.

NIHR Good Clinical Practice (GCP) Refresher Courses
The 'NIHR GCP Refresher' course have been confirmed and are available to book through the online Learning Management System (LMS). The course is a half day training session and the following dates are available in 2013:

NIHR CRN Training Opportunities
The NIHR CRN Workforce Development team offers a variety of training opportunities to staff who support NIHR CRN Portfolio-adopted research studies. The team is currently focusing on their GCP training programme (including online training and training targeted at specific workforce sectors, e.g. primary care, pharmacy), although other training is under development.
