The Board serves to ensure the representation of each constituent NHS organisation, and relevant Higher Education Institutions, in the governance of the CLRN. The Board takes oversight of the activities of the CLRN, ensuring that the interests and priorities of the constituent organisations are carefully considered and inform its activities.

CLRN Board Chair: Mr Martin Lee
Martin Lee qualified as a doctor in Birmingham in 1974 and has been a Consultant Surgeon for the past 25 years. He has been Medical Director at City Hospital Birmingham and University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust, where he was also Chief Executive from 2007-08. In 2011 he was appointed to be Medical Director of the Arden Primary Care Trust Cluster.
After early contributions to cardiorespiratory physiology research in Oxford he developed a longstanding national involvement with breast cancer clinical trials and audit. He has been President of the Association of Breast Surgery, and currently chairs the Breast Group of the National Cancer Intelligence Network.
