‘Open Funding’ Call for 2013-14
West Midlands (South) Comprehensive Local Research Network offer an ‘open call’ for NIHR Infrastructure funding, to allow Trusts (and stakeholders when led and partnered by an NHS Organisation) to propose new and innovative uses of funding to enhance the delivery of research across the region.
New initiatives must lead to tangible outcomes (measurables) in the short term, such as, increased numbers of patients recruited and number of active studies, for example.
For each bid, an award of up to £100,000 can be made, to support developments for up to two years.
Limitations to Use
Funding cannot be used for the following:
Developing new protocols/trials/projects Whilst not within the remit of the CLRN to support equipment/capital investments, applications will be considered and may be awarded under exceptional circumstances; they must directly impact upon recruitment in order to be considered
- Supporting recruitment to non-NIHR Portfolio trials
In addition, funding can only be considered to support portfolio commercial work if a plan of ‘re-investment/capacity building’ for the use of commercial income is submitted for consideration with the application.
Applicants must complete an application form (see link below) and submit via email to email@example.com. The call will run until 15 February 2014. Submitted forms will be presented to the CLRN Executive for consideration. Decisions will usually be announced within 4 weeks of application submission.
NB: Only applications which have been formulated in consultation with Specialty Leads (where applicable) will be considered.
