Background to the CSP Module
How the CSP Module will benefit you and where it fits into the Research and Development Management Information System (RDMIS).
The CSP Module is one part of the NIHR Research and Development Management Information System (RDMIS), a web‐based system which will provide the services and technical framework to support the management of information across the NIHR, and between NIHR and its partner organisations.
It is intended to support and streamline the whole of the research project lifecycle from idea to publication but some of the specific benefits for developing this system include providing:
- researchers and research managers with access to manage the information and guidance required to operate efficiently, and to participate in high quality patient and people-based Research and Development (R&D)
- standard underpinning systems and services to support the operation of all the main elements of the NIHR including commissioning, funding, approvals and research management
- the facility for 'once only' research study data-entry, which will remove the need for data to be entered multiple times in different systems and reduce the administrative burden of proposals, applications and reporting allowing for efforts to be concentrated on monitoring and outcomes.
RDMIS will incorporate specific modules that meet the needs of individual NIHR organisations.
