How to apply for Clinical Research Network support

Use our simple flowchart to follow the process for application for Clinical Research Network support for non-commercial studies.

network of cartoon people to show CSPThe NIHR Coordinated System for gaining NHS Permission (NIHR CSP) is the entry point for non-commercial studies applying for Clinical Research Network support. We are no longer accepting applications for studies that have already started recruiting patients.

Commercially-funded studies

  • Industry sponsored studies
    To work with us and benefit from the support we provide, commercially sponsored studies must first be adopted into the NIHR CRN Portfolio. This can be done in two ways:
    1. Contact the appropriate Clinical Research Network directly or
    2. On submission of your validated CSP Application Form the appropriate Network will be notified about your study and will contact you.

  • Industry funded, non-industry sponsored studies
    The information above for non-commercial studies also applies to industry funded, non-industry sponsored studies (or investigator-initiated trials).
