As one of eight regionally based groups within the NIHR Stroke Research Network, we bring together researchers, clinical and professional staff, in partnership with stroke survivors and their carers.
And that means we can make a unique contribution to research at the local level: health professionals from every stage along the stroke pathway, working in collaboration to improve outcomes for stroke patients.
We can offer practical support, from planning and set-up of studies right through to the delivery phase. With detailed knowledge of the practical steps needed to run a study within the NHS, our team can help you to deliver your study on time, and in line with patient recruitment targets.
At national level, our Clinical Studies Groups can provide input from leading academics in the field, helping to plan and adjust studies so that they can deliver on time and to target. In addition, our national and local teams can help to plan and implement patient recruitment to ensure that research can run smoothly.
And just as importantly, our lay members can offer a vital patient and carer perspective, making a real impact on both the quality and delivery of research.
We support studies funded by the UK and overseas governments, as well as commercial research, helping the life-sciences industry to access the NHS in England and maximising our contribution to stroke research on a worldwide level.
