New CEO for NIHR Clinical Research Network

Dr Jonathan Sheffield OBE has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer at the NIHR Clinical Research Network, and will join the organisation on 1 October.

Dr Sheffield is already very familiar with the work of the National Institute for Health Research, having served on the Advisory Board, which works with the Department of Health on the strategic development of the NIHR.

At present, Dr Sheffield is Medical Director at University Hospitals Bristol NHS Foundation Trust. An alumnus of Dundee Medical School, Dr Sheffield has also worked at Nottingham Hospital and St Mark's Hospital in London. He is a member of the Department of Health Cancer Task Force, and has previously been Chair of the Regional Modernisation Cancer Task Force.
