Since its launch on 18 July 2011, the CSP Module has accepted applications from new projects in the Integrated Research Application System (IRAS).
From 10 October 2011, studies that are already being managed through the NIHR Coordinated System for gaining NHS Permission (CSP) will be included in the CSP Module, following the successful migration of information from current databases.
Once the work is completed, applicants will be able to submit further parts of their application in IRAS to CSP by email. All forms, including R&D and SSI Forms, should be submitted along with the relevant checklist and documents as an application package to crncc.cspunit@nihr.ac.uk.
The new CSP Module will provide improved reporting for users. Vicki Fenwick from the Clinical Research Network Information Management Team helped to develop the new CSP Module Reporting System and she explains why it’s so important:
“The CSP Module Reporting Functionality provides key metrics on CSP processes and has the capability to analyse the associated data. It includes a system for generating standard reports as well as allowing users to create their own reports. This will provide standard management information and support performance management on a day to day basis."
Once the migration is complete all CSP studies will be managed through the CSP Module.
